What a security review examines

Cameras, guards and access systems are only as good as the thinking behind them.

Many sites invest in security without a clear view of what they are protecting or whether the measures work together. A review looks at the whole picture first.

  1. 01

    Perimeter & boundaries

Fencing, gates, landscaping and the edges of the site that are easiest to overlook.

  2. 02

    Access & entry

Doors, shutters, reception and every route a person or vehicle can use to get in.

  3. 03

    Movement & deliveries

How staff, visitors, drivers and contractors move through yards and buildings.

  4. 04

    Lighting & sightlines

Where people can be seen — and where they cannot — at every time of day.

  5. 05

    Procedures & people

Keys, lock-up, visitor handling and what actually happens out of hours.

  6. 06

    Existing provision

Cameras, alarms, access systems and guarding, judged against the real risk.

Site security reviews

A structured, on-site look at your premises and how they are really used.

We walk the site as an intruder, a delivery driver and a member of staff would — examining the boundary, entrances, yards, lighting and internal areas. For managers of several properties, we apply consistent standards across the estate, including vacant units.

  • Perimeter and boundary
  • Entry points and access routes
  • Lighting and sightlines
  • Multi-site and vacant property standards

Security risk assessments

Evidence, not assumption, behind every security decision.

We set out the threats that matter to your operation, how likely they are and what the impact would be, then rank proportionate actions. The result is a clear basis for budgets, insurer conversations and board decisions.

  • Threat and vulnerability analysis
  • Risk ranked by likelihood and impact
  • Proportionate, prioritised actions

Procedures & provision review

Equipment and manpower only work when the routines behind them do.

We review how keys, visitors, deliveries, contractors and lock-up are handled in practice, and give an objective view of existing cameras, alarms, access systems or guarding — and whether they match the risks you face.

  • Visitor, delivery and contractor processes
  • Key and credential management
  • Coverage of existing systems
  • Value of current guarding or patrols

Event security consultancy

Practical security advice for your event, from planning to delivery.

We review your event plans and identify security risks, with recommendations for access, movement and security procedures. Our role is consultancy and planning advice, not supplying guards or event staff.

  • Event security risk review
  • Entry, exit and access planning
  • Movement around the venue
  • Security procedures and responsibilities

Who you deal with

Advice from people who have done the job on the ground.

Level 5 is built on frontline security experience. You speak directly with the consultant who visits your site — not a sales team — and the advice is written for the people who have to act on it.

Level 5 and Guards 247 are separate businesses under shared ownership. You choose who implements our recommendations. If the review identifies a need for guarding or gatehouse support, Guards 247 is one option.

A short first conversation is usually enough to establish what kind of review would be useful — and whether you need one at all.
